Firehook is not just a superfluous name
concocted to make the guys sound extra-tough behind the ovens. It is
actually a name rich in history, derived from the title bestowed upon
bakers in Ancient Egypt. These men were referred to as ‘Firehooks,’
due to the hook-shaped tool that was used to pull baked breads from
the oven during that era. So aside from sounding really cool, our
name has a purpose. And, if it happens to make us sound extra tough,
that’s ok too.
